As a private school, and community based focus. We offer support to children within the community who are willing but have no means. Support us with a token.
Our emphasis in the primary school is to make sure that each child enjoys the care, support and attention they need to learn, develop and flourish.
Our primary School provides a rich and varied academic education, leading to above average levels of attainment expected for their age group. Every year it’s lovely to watch how quickly our new boys and girls settle in and how happily they immerse themselves in the school community.
As they progress through the school, it is wonderful to see them developing in confidence, exploring their talents and engaging with their learning. I think this comes down to the thought we put into making sure that every child is happy. You can see it in our insistence on small class sizes, which allows our teachers to develop a close bond with each boy and girl. You can see it in the way we arrange for different year groups to work together, which makes the transitions between key stages so much more comfortable, and you can see it in our comprehensive programme of enrichment activities and school clubs, which make it so much easier for every child to identify their talents and enjoy exploring them.
The result is that everyone at the school feels that they matter – that they are cared for and supported. We look out for each other, and we celebrate each other’s successes. It’s a strong foundation that we build on with high-quality teaching and a wide curriculum to ensure that every child makes exceptional progress. I count myself lucky to see this spirit of happiness and shared endeavour every day, and I invite you to see it for yourself by making and enquiry or arranging a visit. I would be delighted to show you around and to introduce you to some of our wonderful boys and girls – who truly are the best advert for the school.
Our rich primary School curriculum is designed to help our boys and girls grow in knowledge, skills and understanding. As well as the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Computing, pupils are encouraged to engage with a range of others so that they discover new ways to connect with the wider world and build a lifelong love of learning. These subjects include History, Geography, Religious Studies and PSHCE (Physical, Social, Health and Citizenship Education), as well as PE, Games, French, Music and Computing – all five of which are taught by subject-specialist teachers.
Our curriculum is enhanced by a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, and we take great care to weave spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC) into every aspect of school life. That way we can ensure that all of our boys and girls grow to become fully rounded individuals, able to understand and embrace the fundamental values that hold our society together – democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.
